The
Chester Town Fair is held at the ballfield on Route 102. Events
kick-off with a patriotic-themed parade at noon. The parade starts at
the Chester Town Office building and goes down Chester Street and
continuing to the fair. Fair events and exhibits open at 1 pm and
include dance demonstrations, a farmers’ market, bake sale, children’s
midway, book signings, crafts and more. The Chester Fire Dept. will hold
its annual blood drive and car seat safety check from 1 to 5 p.m. at the
fire station. There will also be a pie bake-off and auction. The Lions
Club will hold its annual yard sale. Entertainment includes Papa Joe’s
storytelling at 3 p.m. and the Stateline Barbershop Quartet. An
old-fashioned family chicken barbecue is held from 5 to 7 p.m. and the
day ends with fireworks after 9 p.m. Applications are being accepted for
the bake-off, parade and the fair itself. Space rental is $10. No midway
rides or games of chance, please! Applications are available at the
Chester Public Library, the Chester Post Office and the Chester Police
