We at Papa Joe's Traveling Storytelling Show®
recognize communities are the most viable access for
educating people. We feel storytelling is the best tool
for teaching as it strengthens imagination, memory, and
communication. We know communication is the most
important skill a person can secure. Verbal, nonverbal,
literary, electronic; all forms of communication are
valuable. That's why we work with sign translators and
therapists to create programming for all people. "Thank you for your help at
the Beach Olympics this year. Without your participation
we couldn't have been as successful as we were. We raised
$10,000 to send to Maine Special Olympics."
"I have never witnessed, in
person or even on national television or in theater the
outstanding story telling that you provided to our
children this week. Our special needs children have a
wide range of abilities and disabilities; most have short
attention spans and are easily distractible. Therefore,
it was especially interesting to me to sit in the back of
the room and see all of them stayed glued to you for a
full hour. I have never seen anything like it. |
